At the time of his arrest, Fitzgerald said, the suspect had told a Leeds police officer that he had shot two additional victims in the city of Birmingham. This officer then reported the information to Birmingham Police and shared details which led law enforcement to the property where the two additional victims were located.

When officers entered the home, Fitzgerald said, they discovered a woman and a man with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel were called to the scene and pronounced the two victims dead on arrival. The names of these victims were not disclosed.

A preliminary investigation by the Birmingham Police Department indicates that the suspect shot two victims in Birmingham before traveling to St. Clair County and shooting Manning and Davidson, according to Fitzgerald.

“So far, the motive has not been determined,” he said. However, we believe the suspect knows at least some of the victims.”

Fitzgerald said the suspect would likely face murder charges due to his alleged involvement in the Birmingham murders.
