Sunbeam is recalling about 43,000 electric blankets due to fire hazards

Sunbeam has announced that it is recalling thousands of electric blankets, saying they can overheat and catch fire.

The recall affected 43,000 queen size blankets sold from September 2022 through January 2023. They were sold online on Amazon and in other small, independent stores across the country.

There were 13 reports of a high temperature in the blankets, but there were no reports of injuries.

Sunbeam announced that it is recalling about 43,000 electric blankets due to a potential fire risk.

According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, anyone with this blanket should unplug it and stop using it immediately.

Anyone who purchased a blanket can get your money back by completing a Online registration form.

Officials also say that users will be required to destroy the product. This can be done by cutting the power cord into the plug, making a permanent marker “X” on the laundry label and sending a sunbeam image of the ruined blanket.

To determine if you have one of these blankets, the officials say to look for the Sunbeam logo and model number printed on the wash label.

Model number is 32810027.
