Emma Heming, Bruce Willis’ wife, celebrates his birthday with a touching message of grief

As Bruce Willis turns 68 on Sunday, his wife, Emma Hemming, marked the day with a candid message about caring for someone with frontotemporal dementia (FTP).

“I started the morning crying as you can see from my swollen eyes,” Hemming said in the Reels Posted on her verified Instagram.

In her ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the realities of addressing a dementia diagnosis in the family, Hemming went on to share that she believes “it’s important to see all sides of this.”

“I always get this message where people are always saying to me, ‘You’re so strong. I don’t know how to do it. I had no choice,” she said, referring to their daughters, Mabel and Evelyn.

Hemming added that “Sometimes in our lives, we have to put our big girl pants on and get to it, and that’s what I do. But I have times of sadness every day, sadness every day and I really feel like today is his birthday.”

Hemming has made it a point to document her journey as Willis’ carer and said in a comment posted on Sunday that the messages of support she’s been reading from her followers are helping her in that regard.

“As much as I do it for myself, I do it for you because I know how much you love my husband,” she concluded her video message, tearing up.
