Splitgate: All weapons, ranked

Splitgate is an arena-based FPS created by 1047 Games. It is an online multiplayer game that reminds us of the good old times of Halo 3 multiplayer battles. Matches are fast and frantic and keep you on the edge of your seat as you work with your team, or sometimes alone, to punish your opponents.

There are many maps to battle and bonus weapons that you can use to complete your mission in each match. The game will spawn you at the start of each life with a random selection of two weapons, or a pre-selected weapon if the game mode calls for it. For example, in Pistol SWAT mode, you will only have access to a toy gun. When every kill counts, it is important to know which weapon will finish the job efficiently.

11 pistol

A gun is an essential component of absolutely any shooter game. They tend to be quick and quick but don’t often pack a big enough punch when facing an opponent with a larger gun. The Splitgate gun has a faster rate of fire than some of the other weapons you can choose, as well as some pretty cool skins to customize your look.

When it comes right down to it, the Splitgate Pistol isn’t powerful enough to finish off an opponent unless you really surprise them. You can’t even zoom with this gun, which makes it very difficult to handle at any distance. The weapon’s overall ineffectiveness gives it the bottom position on this list.

10 sniper rifle

A sniper rifle is a perfectly decent weapon in its very limited situations, but most of the time you’ll need something a little more versatile to get your aim. There are only a couple of maps in Splitgate that really give you a sharpshooter need over other ranged weapons.

In all other situations, anything else with scope will suffice. Lots of game maps are designed with tight corners, multiple rooms, and various levels. However, there are some limited sniper game modes, which are fun when others have one. However, it has good power that can take your target out with two pulls of the trigger – when you can find them.

9 Railgun

The EM cannon is a laser beam with some fun shapes and next-gen sound effects that amp up your vaporization efforts. While the game doesn’t have vehicles that really require this kind of damage output, it’s still satisfying to drive around with this in your hands.

A great tactic for manipulating this gun’s charge time is to keep charging it until halfway through until you find a target, then finish the charge and lose it. The enemy can take you down with a gun before you can be charged if you come face to face unprepared. All that aside, Splitgate’s Instagib game mode is a lot of fun as uncharged EM guns dominate the skies.

8 Rocket launcher

Each of these weapons performs well in certain situations. If you take the rocket launcher into consideration, it’s the perfect complement to your arsenal in a game that doesn’t have grenades. Grenades and explosives are very common in other modern first-person shooters, like Call of Duty or Battlefield, but Splitgate doesn’t include those familiar ones.

In Splitgate, the Rocket Launcher packs a heavy punch with every hit. You have to be more accurate with your shots compared to other games, because they don’t have the same hit radius. With a direct hit, your opponent will be eliminated. You’ll only get a few shots with this one, so make it count.

7 SMG

SMG sits somewhere in the middle. It is more effective than ranged-wielding weapons, but it lacks any downward-shooting ability, which makes it somewhat inaccurate. It is difficult to gauge when and to what extent you will eliminate your enemy.

The best time to use this weapon is when you frequently come face to face with your opponents. This could be while capturing the flag or on one of the smaller maps. This gun can be powerful, but the lack of accuracy really brings the weight of this gun down with so many better options available.

6 carbine

The carbine is effective, but it doesn’t have as much power and isn’t as useful in all scenarios compared to the other weapons on this list. You’ll want to use a carbine when you can keep some distance between yourself and your enemies. It’s a single-shot weapon, so every pull of the trigger will deliver full force—provided you hit your target.

The downside to this is that the rate of fire is very slow, and you have to track your enemy with your scope before shooting them down. In close quarters, you will be most vulnerable. Most of the time your enemy will have a faster shooting gun, and you won’t be able to compete. When you need accuracy and you have the time, this gun will do the trick.

5 Gun

You will find that the assault rifle in this game is well balanced. You have a great rate of fire and moderate accuracy with some zoom capabilities. There is some recoil associated with the gun as expected, but as long as you can anticipate where your target is moving, you will knock them out if you land on them. It also works well in the near term!

The overall firepower of an assault rifle isn’t high per bullet, so kills require a bit of work. If there are nearby obstacles to hide behind, the shields can recharge before too long, and you’ll be back to square one with your opponent.

4 battle gun

Trial and true for beginners in every good FPS game. This weapon fires in firing position which gives you accuracy and power. It has a good, reliable approximation, and can kill quickly in skilled hands. It’s not the best option in close quarters combat, as anything from an assault rifle to a handgun will keep shooting you as you pass blasting rounds, but from a distance, you’re unstoppable.

Aim for the head, stick your hands in, follow your target, and they’ll be taken out quickly with this weapon in your arsenal. If you’re in a close situation, just give them a good melee blow to finish the job.

3 Plasma gun

Plasma gun is a very effective weapon. One great thing about picking this up on the battlefield is that it has an insane rate of fire. Holding down the trigger for just a few seconds will send a huge barrage of plasma energy towards your opponent.

Once you hit the energy ball, the rest tend to follow in quick succession until your target is finished off before they even know what hit them. The downside is that it runs out of energy quickly due to its very effective rate of fire. This is best used when you have an alternate weapon to switch to in case you run out of energy in the middle of battle.

2 BFB

The BFB is a future hard hitting batter. This gun fires no matter how you swing it. You’ll also notice that even if you’re not directly in front of an enemy, he pushes you forward a bit with each swing, giving you a little grace for early swings.

The only real downside to this gun is that it is not equipped to handle many swings, and is only intended for close range situations. It’s powerful, though, so once you run out of energy, you need to find a shotgun to continue the carnage.

1 Gun

Splitgate - Shotgun weapon screen skins

You can call her your best friend or helpful partner in crime. You might also call it Splitgate’s best weapon. This gun packs a huge punch with just one pull of the trigger. Although shotguns are known for their short range, this gun can handle a slightly greater than average distance.

It does well in most skirmishes because of that, its fast rate of fire, and the most insane firepower. It may be a close match against BFB, but if you have some precision, you will win every time. You also get more shots, as well as some amazing range.
