Destiny 2: Lightfall – All new weapon perks, in order

Destiny 2: Lightfall, just like any other expansion or season, launches with an all-new set of weapon perks. Weapon perks are what make a weapon in Destiny 2 and are an essential part of a weapon’s identity. Each player has their own favorite perks and they prioritize them in the weapons they use and craft.

There are 8 new perks included with the new Lightfall weapons. While some perks are only available on a few weapons, some perks see a lot of action by being available on every other weapon. This list will go over how good each feature is and whether they are worth your time.

8 Courageous courage

Courageous courage

The valiant charge is a sword-exclusive perk available on seasonal sword weapons in Season of Defiance. These include Caretaker, Death’s Razor, Goldtusk, and Throne-Cleaver. This perk states: “Receiving damage while on guard temporarily increases sword lunge distance in order to improve duration.”

Valiant charge is a worse version of the very popular Eager Edge feature. It also provides the same dash distance as the Eager Edge. However, you must guard the incoming damage to activate it. Swords are not popular at the moment, and hardly anyone uses guard swords, which makes this feature one of the most useless perks in the game.

7 Motor tremors

Motor tremors

Kinetic Tremors is a feature exclusive to Kinetic Weapons and is currently available in three weapons: Battle Scars, Nameless Midnight, and Buzzard. This feature states: “Continued kinetic damage to the target produces a shockwave that destroys any nearby targets”.

While this feature looks good on paper, and shock wave is very good, the main problem with this feature is the number of constant hits it requires. The amount of hit required to get this perk is such that the enemy would already be dead in normal content. This feature could work in end game content, but there are many better damage options than kinetic jerks.

6 Envious killer

Envious killer

The Envious Assassin is the opposite of the ambitious Assassin and currently comes with a variety of different weapons. The feature states: “Hitting targets with other weapons before this weapon is drawn transfers ammo from the reserves into the magazine. This effect can exceed the magazine based on the number of enemies defeated.”

The Ences Assassin is a very good feature, especially on special and heavy ammo weapons, as it can outrun the magazine up to three times the normal size. However, it is completely useless on raw weapons unless you use special ammo or heavy ammo weapons to remove ads (which is very unlikely in the current meta). Again, this isn’t a bad feature, but there are other better options on this list.

5 Aegis renewal

Aegis renewal

Regeneration of Aegis is a Glaive exclusive privilege and is currently only available on one glaive, the seasonal ritual glaive of the challenge season, Ecliptic Distaff. This feature states: “Dealing damage partially reloads the weapon from the reserve.”

While this feature doesn’t sound great on paper, it’s surprisingly very good. It can make your Glaive shield (which offers a huge amount of damage resistance) last more than 1 minute if you make sure to keep shooting enemies with your projectile while blocking. It’s a solid feature that we hope will be added to more Glaives in the future.

4 adjacent convergence

Paracasol convergence

Paracausal Affinity is the latest addition to the damage perk. It’s an interesting feature and it says: “Final hit of power types matching this weapon’s alignment grants increased damage for improved duration. Light final hits boost Arc, Solar and Void weapons. Dark final strikes boost Stasis and Strand weapons.”

This perk provides a 20% damage increase and can be regenerated. It’s a mix of Rampage and Golden Tricorn, but it’s more obtainable and allows for more flexibility in your designs, making it better than Rampage and Golden Tricorn in most situations.

3 hatching

hatching

Hatchling is the feature of the Strand’s subclass, as Headstone, Incandescent, and Voltshot are for Stasis, Solar, and Sagittarius, respectively. This feature is present in almost every threading weapon in the game right now and it says: “Accurate finishing hits or quick defeat of targets with a non-accurate weapon generates threads at the location of the target.”

There isn’t much to say about this feature except that it’s a must-have for any strand builder, be it for Warlocks, Titans, or Hunters. It’s an S-tier feature on Strand weapons, and you must have at least one weapon with this feature.

2 Stay away

Stay away

Keep Away is probably the only PvP feature that came with this expansion and is the complete opposite of Threat Detector. It states: “Significantly increase reloading, range and accuracy when there are no combatants in close proximity.”

While Threat Detector is a good feature for submachine guns, shotguns, fusion rifles, and Sidearms, this feature is S-class for literally every other weapon type. This feature is activated when there is no enemy within 15 meters of your proximity, and if you are not using a weapon at close range, this feature will be active all the time and provide some important dueling bonuses.

1 destabilizing tours

destabilizing tours

Everyone loves choppy rides. It’s the perfect thing to remove ads and the most satisfying thing is to see an entire room explode in a purple explosion. “Final hits cause nearby targets to jitter,” states the destabilizing rounds.

While destabilizing rounds will work great with your Void builds, the main advantage of this feature is that you can use variable rounds on any subclass and it doesn’t have to be on a Void subclass all the time. The community has been asking for this feature since the introduction of Incandescent and Voltshot, and now it’s finally here. Just like its cousins Solar and Arc, it is a must-have S-class perk for any Void weapon or build.
