AI chatbots are all the rage these days and while I missed testing both chat and the The new Bing with ChatGPT When they were released, I didn’t want to make the same mistake cool google.
When I heard the news earlier today (March 21) users can Join the waiting list To test out Google Bard, I signed up right away. While I spent most of the day checking personal Gmail waiting for access — FYI Google Bard doesn’t work with Google Workspace accounts — I finally got an email that said, “It’s your turn to try Bard.”
As a person use The best Google Home speakers years ago until now Smart screen under my screenI was curious how Google Bard works google assistant. Certainly, others will want to compare Google’s chatbot to the new ChatGPT or Bing. But unlike those gadgets, I use Google Assistant every single day.
I also wanted to avoid asking the same old questions people often ask chatbots. That’s why I’ve turned to Google Bard for help with a few questions about projects I’m currently working on and even for some help with my personal life. Here are my thoughts after my hands-on Google Bard.
Google Cool vs Google Assistant
While microsoft Cortana gave up Before it could add some of the best features and functionality from the new Bing with ChatGPT to its virtual assistant, Google continued to support the Google Assistant and make improvements over the years.
Integrating Google Bard with Google Assistant or even Google Search could be a huge win for the search giant as it works to regain ground it has lost to Microsoft in the generative AI race. Because of this, one of the first things I asked Google Bard about was how it compares to Google Assistant.
As you can see from the answer above, Google Bard has shaped what I’ve been thinking since the AI chatbot craze began at the end of last year – both they and the Google Assistant are big language models with a lot of information at their disposal. However, the Google Bard isn’t a commercial product yet, so it can’t make phone calls, send texts, or do some of the other things Google Assistant can already do.
To see how Google Bard lives up to the competition, I also asked the chatbot how it compares to ChatGPT. The search giant’s chatbot was eager to not only set itself apart but also throw a few punches in OpenAI’s direction.
Even with Microsoft investing $10 billion in OpenAI to further improve ChatGPT, Google still has more AI experience. Google Bard indicated this by explaining that its language model is larger than ChatGPT and that it was trained using a newer dataset.
However, Google Bard also highlighted the fact that it can use Google search while ChatGPT cannot. More testing is definitely needed, but in Google Bard’s digital eyes, it’s the best chatbot. However, he did say that ChatGPT is powerful and “may be a better option for some users”.
Find my next smartphone
If you read my article about not being able to Leaving my old OnePlus phoneThen you’ll know I’m currently in the market for my next phone. I did a lot of research on my own and even looked up a list The best Android phones But today I also decided to try using Google Bard for my research.
While I could have Google’s chatbot review the Samsung Galaxy S23 Like others have done with ChatGPT or the new Bing, I instead asked Bard to review a none phone 1 Since I preferred Stock Android.
Google Bard’s review of the Nothing Phone 1 highlighted the phone’s most interesting features like its transparent back and the fact that it’s not running Nothing OS. However, he didn’t mention the phone’s unique Glyph lighting system at all. Google Bard also told me that no OS is “still a relatively new OS” despite the fact that it runs above Android 13.
Although it is weak compared to the flagship phones, but Motorola Edge 2022 It is another phone on my shortlist. Naturally, I compared the Google Bard to the Nothing Phone 1. While the chatbot provided a nice table comparing its specs, it listed its pricing in rupees instead of US dollars. I’m still hesitant to pull the trigger, which is why I might be waiting for a file none phone 2 instead of.
Get help with work projects and even childcare
after me Turn an old screen into a digital dashboard This past summer, my DIY projects became very popular in Tom’s Guide which is why I’m always working on coming up with the next project. I won’t get too far into spoilers, but I’m currently in the process of trying to add an extra screen to my Peloton Bike Plus so I can play games and watch movies while on the bike without having to hack it out.
As such, I’ve been trying to come up with ways to mount a portable screen on top of the Peloton screen so I can see both at the same time. I searched extensively to see if anyone else online had managed to achieve something similar to no avail. I asked Google Bard for help, and was surprised at the answer I got.
Apparently, “There are a number of third-party monitors that are compatible with the Peloton bike.” I didn’t find anything in my search but I think I need to keep searching. Surprisingly, these monitors, which I haven’t found yet, “usually have a built-in mount that allows them to be placed on the bike.” Probably not what I had in mind but this could work if I could find one.
As of tomorrow, I will be home alone with my one-year-old for the first time ever. While I use one of the best baby monitors to keep an eye on him at night, I’m really at a loss as to what to feed him for dinner every night because we can’t eat out all the time. Again, Google Bard had a few suggestions.
Based on suggestions from the Google chat bot, my son will have chicken, fish, tofu, vegetables, rice, or noodles for dinner for the next few nights. Besides giving me some tips on how to make meals for a toddler, the chatbot is quite competent when it comes to making recipes. Now if only I could get her to cook for me.
Cool Google: Outlook
Google Bard is definitely a useful tool — in my experience with it so far, I’d say it’s on par with the new Bing when it comes to writing prompts and answering questions. It’s still not as useful as Google Assistant at the moment, as it’s not integrated with other Google products yet. But when it does, I’m sure I’ll use it more because I’m already heavily invested in the Google ecosystem.
This is one of the main problems with AI chatbots, in my opinion – none of them are advanced or useful enough yet to get you to use the software you’re used to.
I am sure many people have switched their default browser to Edge to Go ahead with Microsoft’s queue for new Bing and immediately returned it as soon as they arrived. At least with the Google Bard, I plan to stick with it since I use Chrome and Google Assistant quite frequently.
