Houston, Texas (KTRK) – Gunfire broke out outside a residential complex in Alif district on Thursday night, sending a man to hospital.
Video from the scene shows the windows released from several vehicles in the parking lot at 11700 Bissonnet Street near S. Kirkwood Road.
Houston police said a man in his 20s who was in one of the cars was shot in the legs and arms shortly after 10 p.m. He is expected to survive.
“He was able to get out of the car and get away from there. He got some help from some people in the apartment complex and went back to the scene,” said 1st Lt. Wilkins. “We took him to the hospital with an HFD. He has to live.”
Wilkins said the man’s car flipped across the street after he got out and stopped at a nearby grocery store.
Investigators said the shooter was carrying a gun and has not yet been arrested.
Police had no information on what exactly led to the shooting or a possible motive.
