Target just confirmed its first PS5 discount – how to get yours

A few months ago, just finding a PS5 restocking at its usual retail price would have been quite an achievement. And while the console enjoyed a period of significantly increased availability in 2023, we certainly weren’t expecting any sort of PS5 discount in the near future.

This is why it is a very pleasant surprise Target has confirmed that it will be selling the PS5 God of War Ragnarök bundle for $509 next week (Opens in a new tab). That’s a $50 savings compared to the full bundle’s list price of $559, and it should go without saying that this is the best PS5 deal we’ve discovered to date.

This deal will be valid between Sunday, March 26th, and Friday, April 1st, but we expect the discounted PS5 bundle to sell out well before its expiration date.

Even two years after its release, the PS5 remains one of the most popular tech items on the planet. In fact, as of December last year, it had passed the threshold of 32 million units sold. Of course, we are not surprised that Sony’s home console continues to be a bestseller, we called it “the future of console gaming” in our site. PS5 reviewThis assessment is as accurate now as it was then.

The PS5 is a great gaming machine packing seriously high-end hardware, its main component being an ultra-fast SSD that has made loading screens practically a problem of the past, but you shouldn’t overlook the excellent DualSense controller either. This premium board includes innovative features such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers that do an excellent job of immersing you in the game.

As noted, that $50 discount is on the PS5 God of War Ragnarök bundle rather than the standalone device, but that’s not a bad thing. The follow-up to 2018’s God of War reboot, Ragnarök currently tops our list of the best PS5 games for very good reason. in our area God of War Ragnarok review We called the game “worthy of gods” and praised its cinematic storytelling, engaging combat and remarkably impressive visuals.

If you’re interested in getting your hands on one of the discounted PS5 bundles next week, we highly recommend getting ready to buy the moment the deal goes live. Target has already advised that “quantities are limited,” and we expect the retailer to sell out fairly quickly. Even if PS5 supply finally catches up to demand, it’s unlikely that a discount of this quality will be available for very long.
