Oshi no Ko shares a new trailer, poster

Buckle up, idol fans. Looks like Oshi no Ko will be here soon. If you didn’t know, the team at Doga Kobo has been working on an Oshi no Ko anime for quite some time now. Ahead of the premiere, the show just dropped a new poster and trailer to fans, and they show why Oshi no Ko is stepping away from the regular idol series.

As you can see above, the Oshi no Ko trailer introduces the world to Aqua and Ruby along with their mother, Ai. Things seem simple enough in this trailer as Oshi no Ko brings fans into a world of glamorous idols and untouchable talent. However, things take a turn when murder and reincarnation become involved. Japan’s biggest idol ends up giving birth to reincarnated twins before they are killed, and it falls to her children to find out who killed the star.

Of course, Oshi no Ko fans are excited to see how this murder mystery series plays out on the small screen. Oshi no Ko manga is so popular thanks to Aka Akasaka, creator of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War. They penned Oshi no Ko with Mengo Yokoyari under Shueisha, so it looks like Jump Comics is about to welcome another hit to TV. The publisher also welcomes other films such as Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku to TV as MAPPA Studio is overseeing the animation. So if you’re not getting ready for the Spring 2023 season, you better get your schedule together ASAP.

If you haven’t been paying attention to Oshi no Ko, the manga is still being published, so you can read it now. As for the anime, Oshi no Ko will debut on April 12th before being simulcast on HIDIVE stateside. You can read the official synopsis of the story below for all the details:

Goro is a gynecologist and fan of idols, and he’s shocked after his favorite star, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. Little does Goro realize he’s about to form a relationship with her that defies all common sense! Lies are an idol’s greatest weapon in this outrageous manga from Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama). : Love is War) and Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Desire).
