Tri-The Truth from Houston helps those affected by the Mississippi hurricane

Rolling Rock, Mississippi (KTRK) – Houston rapper and philanthropist Try the Truth went to Mississippi to help those affected by the powerful and destructive outbreak of storms and tornadoes over the weekend.

At least 27 tornadoes were reported across five states – Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee. Officials said at least 22 people were killed in Mississippi, where a long-tracked tornado left a trail of destruction for about 59 miles.

The intense tornado that struck Rolling Fork, Mississippi, late Friday was given an EF-4 rating, a rating that classifies it as a rare, powerful storm.

Trae uploaded photos of himself helping with the Rolling Fork to his Facebook, showing the devastating damage around him.

“The state of Mississippi has been hit hard, and Rolling Fork homes can only be rebuilt from scratch,” he wrote in his letter.

The aid is said to be part of the “Relief Gang” organization that helps those in need.

Trae also visited Mississippi last year to deliver clean drinking water to Jackson when the city’s water system was cut off for several days.
