Portland, Ore – A Portland, Oregon, nightclub announced on social media that Darcylie XV, the Guinness World Record holder for the oldest drag queen performance, passed away Thursday at the age of 92.
“The Darseley XV family along with its cast and crew are saddened to announce that our beloved Darseley XV (Walter W. Cole, Sr.) has passed away at the age of 92 of natural causes,” Darseley XV Showplace said on Instagram. “We ask for privacy and patience because everyone processes and grieves in their own way and at their own pace.”
Darcylie’s 15th was crowned the oldest drag queen in Guinness World Records in 2016. Her 15th Darcylie Show is the “longest running drag queen on the West Coast,” according to Guinness.
Upcoming performances at the cabaret “will continue as scheduled as per Darcyley’s wishes,” according to an Instagram post.
A public memorial is also being planned.
CNN has attempted to reach Darcelle XV’s family for comment.
