New York — Zach Shallcross and Kaity Biggar are enjoying life as an engaged couple after their time on ‘The Bachelor’.
Bachelor Nation watched Zack get down on one knee and propose to Katie at Monday night’s grand finale.
Katie says she is pleased with Neil Lane’s engagement ring, which Zack chose.
“There are diamonds literally everywhere!” Katie said. “There’s a huge oval, diamond around it, and then the band is a diamond, no shortage.”
“I think I did a good job!” Zack said.
As they adjust to life together, Zack said he’s moving from his temporary home in Los Angeles to Austin to be with Kitty as they get a place together this summer.
“I love Austin. I’ve lived there for a while and we’re just ready to attack town together,” he said.
So why was the process of being on “The Bachelor” beneficial to them?
“I’ve been in such a good part of my life and I’ve been happy with who I am as a person and I was just ready to give myself to someone, the right man, and this opportunity came and I was just thinking to myself everything happens for a reason and I take a chance and hopefully find a good man.” .
“It was clear that I was ready to settle down and find the love of my life,” Zack said. “I’m going to show who I am and I hope this person loves me for me and she loves me, and that means the world to me, so I found her! I found my best friend!”
Zack has been mentored by former “Bachelorette” Sean Lowe this season and the couple say they hope to mentor other couples the way Sean and his wife Katherine have helped them.
“What Shaun did was amazing, he’s a good friend, and if we could do that…” Zach said.
“Yeah, it really helped,” Kitty said.
“He did, he’s great, and even Jesse, even though he’s the host, that’s my boy,” he said.
As they settle into their “new normal” life, Kitty mentions that while she isn’t a great dancer in her opinion, she thinks Zack is!
“This guy is going to be great on Dancing with the Stars, no one should be seeing my dance moves,” Kitty said.
He said, “I know I’m not a good dancer, but I enjoy dancing, any time any song plays, you know I’m dancing.”
