Premiere of a movie Yellow jackets The twisted “return” of Jackie, who froze to death (in a totally preventable situation) was featured at the end of Season 1. Jackie didn’t come back to life, but Shauna had full conversations with her, going so far as to braid her hair and do her makeup. Now, in the fourth episode of the new season, another similar character has returned, appearing in visions and hallucinations, and throwing another wrench into the story. There’s a lot going on inside Lottie’s head. There’s no way to decipher exactly what’s happening to her yet, but she’s connected to the wild in a way that no one else knows, apparently giving her supernatural abilities in the ’90s timeline, and terrifying visions/flashbacks in the current timeline. In Episode 3, Lottie saw Laura Lee in a vision of the present day, but it pretty much played out like a nightmare. This week, teenage Lottie interacts and chats with Laura Lee.
If you remember, the girls found an abandoned plane in the woods in Season 1, and Laura Lee tried to fly it away to get help. The plane had barely taken off when it exploded in front of everyone, killing Laura Lee and whatever hope they had of being rescued.
In this week’s episode, Lottie and Natalie participate in a competition to find food for everyone. Lottie offers her blood to the wilderness and allows her to guide her, but her journey does not lead her to food. She was taken to the spot where the plane was found, and somehow, the plane is still there. Inside the plane, Lottie finds an escape hatch and climbs into a tunnel that opens to a mall food court. You see all the girls there, including Laura Lee.
This is clearly not real, and possibly a hoax being played on Lottie by Wilderness. However, it was Laura Lee who saved her. Laura Lee begins telling Lottie that she is so cold, that she will freeze to death. These pleas cause Lottie to wake up, and she is lying on the ice where the plane was.
Between visions of Lottie as an adult and hallucinations as a teenager, Laura Lee never appears to her on more than one occasion. Despite her death, expect Laura Lee to play an important role in Lottie’s story moving forward.
