Naruto has decades of world building under his thumb, but there are still things the anime hasn’t answered yet. We’ve tackled some of these things in recent years thanks to Boruto, and there’s more to do. After all, Boruto gets new manga updates monthly, and a new video game will give Naruto’s son an original arc. And so far, it appears that story canon might only answer one hole in the plot from long ago.
And what could it be? Well, the loose thread seems to be about the Uchiha clan. Back in Naruto Shippuden, the scene surprised fans when another Uchiha appeared in the Hidden Leaf after slaughtering the clan, and Boruto settled on a new Uchiha on his horizon.
After all, Boruto fans knew that its original video game arc would feature Boruto facing off against a familiar foe. Some shots released from the arc show Boruto facing an enemy kunai in one hand. The other shot shows Naruto facing off against a strange red Susanoo, and the look has fans convinced a new Uchiha is about to appear.
After all, Uchiha tend to give different guises to Susanoo, and this variant is fresh. Some fans are wondering if the character in this shot is from the Naruto Shippuden scene where Sasuke appears after the massacre at the school with his fellow Uchiha. The scene has been the stuff of memes for years, but Boruto could very well establish it soon.
Of course, there are plenty of other fans out there who have different interpretations. Boruto can be thrown into an alternate universe where there are more Uchiha or a world where Sasuke’s Susanoo is read. Another possibility lies with Sarada if the bow gives the girl access to the technique. For now, fans will have to wait and see, but the latest Boruto teaser has all eyes on the Uchiha clan once again.

As for the franchise itself, Naruto lives his best life on the page. The Boruto manga is on deck to release monthly chapters for the foreseeable future. Earlier this year, the Boruto anime closed its doors due to a manga adaptation running out of content, but the show will resume when it has a plethora of Naruto chapters to cover.
