Star Wars Jedi: Survivor – All lightsaber stand, ranked

Following Cal’s journey in Fallen Order, he started Star Wars Jedi: Survivor with two basic lightsaber stances he had learned previously – single-bladed and double-bladed – and quickly added dual wielding to his repertoire. As you continue the campaign, you’ll gain access to two more fighting styles, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.

You will only be able to equip two fighting styles at a time and you will need to return to your meditation point to switch the two styles you have equipped. With multiple styles to choose from, here are the ones you should prioritize using and upgrading.

5 Double blade style

Double Bladed Style has seen some serious modifications since its debut in Fallen Order. Now, this style does decent damage and excels at damaging multiple enemies at once with massive swing attacks. This style comes with a lightsaber throwing ability, but while useful, it’s not enough to make this style more effective overall.

With more upgrades using skill points, you will learn more spin style attacks which continue to make this style more effective against groups of enemies. While this style excels with combos, it slowly starts to wane throughout the game as enemy groups become stronger and more diverse. This style has few effective uses against stronger enemies or bosses, which requires you to use another style that is more effective against the bosses of this challenging game.

4 Crossguard style

Crossguard style is one of the new styles introduced in Jedi Survivor. This style matches the lightsaber first seen by Kylo Ren in the sequel trilogy of films. Attacks in this style are slow, high-damage attacks that are great for depleting an enemy’s stamina bar.

While attacks with this style can briefly stun your enemy and leave them open to follow-up attacks, this style doesn’t always flow properly with this game’s fast-paced fighting style. You’ll often run into enemies that leave you with only short windows to counterattack, and this style doesn’t always strike within that window. Other skills in this style help with this style’s versatility and full damage, and for those who want to master timing, it will be easy to take down weaker enemies.

3 Dual use method

Dual Wielding in Jedi Survivor is given its own style, allowing you to fight continuously with its basic attacks. While this style has similar fast attacks to the Double Blade style, Dual Wielding excels at targeting single enemies. Some of the skills needed to upgrade this style help make Cal faster in this style, make him jump and seamlessly incorporate dodges into his attacks.

This style also has a very powerful throwing attack, his best skill being the ability to throw a lightsaber and bounce off enemies to hit several at the same time. With some upgrades, this style is given powerful tools to deal with powerful enemies along with larger combos. You can also scatter filtered shots in more creative ways, allowing you to hit more than just the enemy that fired.

2 blaster style

Cale fires his cannon in a blaster style

Blaster Style is another of the new styles introduced in Jedi Survivor and one of the most interesting considering Cal fights with both a lightsaber and a blaster. Despite fighting with a blaster, this style requires Cal to also fight close-quarters with his lightsaber to recharge the shots into his Blaster. The Blaster may not be incredibly powerful, but it can fire a single shot at weaker enemies and use it to launch quick, ranged attacks to interrupt enemies.

With more skill upgrades you can unlock for this style, you will not only learn a lot of new skills but will only increase the overall effectiveness of the style. With enough upgrades, you’ll be able to carry more explosive shots and retrieve them easily than having to just make a few attacks with your lightsaber. For those looking to unload larger clips of shots with the Blaster, it does a decent amount of damage to both the enemy’s health and stamina bar.

1 Single lightsaber style

The solo lightsaber style may seem like the most basic style, but there’s a reason it’s so popular among the Jedi in the galaxy. This is the lightsaber style Cal starts with at first, and is able to use skill points to instantly upgrade him. Many additional skills to learn with this approach provide more combinations that can be used in different situations. Learning to use each new attack correctly in the right situation can make this style incredibly effective.

This technique excels at quickly taking down weaker enemies with a moderate attack speed while packing enough punches to weaken the enemy’s stamina bar. The different skills of this style vary widely, which helps it become more versatile. While this style may not be completely superior in any area, it does not have any real weaknesses like other styles.
