Temple, TX (KTRK) – All eastbound lanes on the Grand Parkway were closed Friday night due to a fatal two-vehicle accident involving a box truck, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident occurred at 12,000 blocks from SH-99 in Hove Smith and Cowherville in northern Harris County, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez tweeted.
Officials confirmed one death.
SkyEye from ABC13 flew over the scene and saw traffic come to a standstill with only one lane open for drivers to use.
A vehicle was also seen with severe damage at both ends as officials began cleaning up.
In addition to the eastbound lanes, the eastbound ramp at SH-249 has been closed as an active investigation remains underway.
Officials did not say how the accident occurred.
