A four-year-old boy was killed and one injured after he was found unresponsive inside a car in North Houston near Independence Heights

Houston, Texas (KTRK) – A four-year-old died, and one is in a critical condition, after he was found unconscious in a handicapped vehicle in North Houston Friday night, according to police.

The video above is from the live broadcast channel ABC13.

HPD homicide detectives for the 200 block of Oriole Street near Yale responded to a “child trapped in a car” call.

When officials arrived, a child was found unconscious. Both were taken to hospital by ambulance, where one was pronounced dead, and the condition of the other was listed as critical.

According to officials, the children were reportedly playing and somehow became trapped inside the car parked on the street.

Officials did not provide further details on whether the children were supervised by an adult.

It is not known at this time if any charges will be filed.
