PlayStation Plus subscribers get a rare 25% discount

PlayStation Plus subscribers seem to be getting a very rare discount right now that gives them 25% off their PlayStation Plus subscription renewal. This is the kind of deal new subscribers sometimes get if they’ve never tried PlayStation Plus Essential, Deluxe, or Premium, but most of the time, existing subscribers are excluded from the offer because they’re already members. However, that’s not the case this time around, because in a welcome turn of events, it appears that this deal is only available to people who are already subscribed to PlayStation Plus and want to keep their subscription active.

One of the first reports about this new PS Plus discount came from myplaystation That confirmed that the offer was going to subscribers in Brazil. On Twitter, it was apparent that users in other regions were also getting the same offer that said they would get 25% off a PS Plus subscription if they renewed their existing subscription. Reddit users They also shared to say that they already have this offer with some of them getting it as early as April.

Regardless of which region the offer is distributed in, the story remains the same regarding the terms of the deal. All reports say that the offer is only for existing users which is far from the norm, although the way the offer is received is different sometimes. Some reported getting the offer in their email inbox associated with their PlayStation account, though others said the deal can also be found by going to the PS Plus section of the PlayStation menu on your PS4 or PS5.

Aside from this being only available to existing users, there seems to be another condition or two attached to this discount. From what some people are saying, it appears that the deal is usually bestowed on subscribers who are within a month or so of their current subscription expiring. It also appears that this discount can only be used to renew an existing PS Plus tier, meaning you can’t use it to move up to PS Plus Deluxe or PS Plus Premium if you’re only using the PS Plus Essential tier at the moment.

Reports about this promotion have suggested it ends May 31, so be sure to check your inbox or the PS Plus section of your console to see if you’ve got the offer between now and then. Since some said they got the deal before May, beware sending it in the future, too, if your PS Plus subscription is coming to an end.

And while you’re at it, be sure to grab May’s free PS Plus games within the next couple of days to make sure you don’t miss out on them. The free PS Plus games for June will be revealed very soon,
