On the Tuesday night premiere of Spider-Man: Through the Spider-VerseBrian Tree Henry spoke to Aaron Perrin of ComicBook.com about how his upbringing helped shape the image of Miles’ father, Jefferson Davis.
Henry explained, “I know the kind of family I grew up in. I know the kind of parents I had and I wanted to do the opposite of that.” “I wanted to make sure there were all kinds of different flavors. You’re raising this Afro-Latino son, who you don’t know is running around being a superhero, but you know there are secrets, he’s trying to get to it, and he’s growing. What does that look like?”
Henry went on to explain that Jefferson and Rio are just trying to walk the line between being supportive and being stuffy, which is something every parent struggles with.
He continued, “I think every parent wants to feel like their child knows their love, that their child knows they are being nurtured while also trying not to smother their child at the same time.” “So I like that kind of dynamic that Luna has [Lauren Velez] And I come to Jefferson and Rio.
