It’s hard to distinguish identical twins if you’re not close friends or family with them, it’s even more difficult when their names are Erryk and Arryk, like the twins played by Elliott and Luke Tittensor in Dragon House. Their identical features turned out to be useful during the show’s conclusion, because one fell ill and the other had to fill it in as his brother’s character. To add a bit more context, the scene in question is a key scene from Shock of the first season final Where the blacks began planning their attack on the greens. The meeting took place right after those in Dragonstone learned the news of Viserys’ death and Aegon, Alicent’s son, assumed the throne without the knowledge of the other Targaryens. Yaitanes also said that if Luke was not able to play his brother, he would kill them because he was standing next to Rhaenyra the whole time, who is one of the main players in the scene. Which means it would have drastically changed the show’s filming schedule.
They really pulled off the little hangman, I know I didn’t notice, and it seemed like most people watching the show didn’t either. I mean, it doesn’t help our chances of spotting the difference when the two siblings are not only identical, but they both wear the same outfit and have painfully similar names. I mean erryk and arryk… come on, we don’t have a chance to tell them apart.
I think it makes sense for the show to use their identical looks in the plot as well, not just for logistical reasons. while we don’t You know a lot about the second season of hot, we know that the Twins have fallen on different sides of the battle, with Erryk on the Blacks’ side and Arryk on the Greens’ side. I can totally see the show using the twins as secret agents to get the intel on the other side as the dragon dance begins.
At the end of season one, the twins are still alive, so I’m expecting we’ll see more Erryk and Arryk, and possibly the actors swapping places, come season two.
