eBay has announced plans to buy popular trading card market TCGPlayer for $295 million. Buying continues to push eBay into trading cards, as collectible cards are currently one of the best selling products on the auction site. TCGPlayer will continue to operate independently after the acquisition is completed, and plans to add features such as “comprehensive strategic channel capabilities such as order fulfillment and shopping cart optimization” to TCGPlayer’s already powerful suite of e-commerce tools.
