Galveston, Texas (KTRK) – The Galveston ISD Institute said Friday that a 14-year-old who had been fighting to survive since a recurring DWI plane crash has died. Galveston Police said Poole High School student Sam Mixon was one of five people in a Jeep on Sept. Mason Nelson, another passenger in the jeep, died at the scene while Mixon and another person were hospitalized in critical condition at the trauma center at John Seely Hospital at UTMB Health.
