AEW star highlights Undertaker’s recent ‘prudent’ comments

The Undertaker once again had some comments about how the current generation of WWE Superstars matched the ’80s and ’90s while airing on the True Geordies podcast this week. While his comments weren’t as harsh as previous ones, some fans hung up on the call when he started talking about grit and lack of it in the current locker room. He explained, “I feel like there’s a level of grit missing from today’s product. I don’t know it’s anyone’s fault. We’re all getting old. This new collection came out. When you watch Brock wrestle, you’re interested because you know; He has this background as an amateur wrestler, professional wrestler, mixed martial artist. Brooke doesn’t do a bunch of crazy moves. It deals with your ass. Enter there, and receive you, and crash.

“Roman (Reigns) has a little bit of that for him.” “When he wants, Randy (Orton) has a little bit of that for him. A lot of young talent… It’s the evolution of the comic book era, the era of superheroes, that’s their motivation and inspiration. They didn’t have to go up and break heads in bars and figure out how they were going to eat. Good Or bad, that’s what it is.”

Joey Janela, an independent wrestler who is now on his way out with AEW, decided to enjoy Undertaker’s comment. He tweeted, “I agree Mark 100%! Lots of lame geek talk in these locker rooms! If you open a wrestling school before you have your first match, you’ll have to engage in at least two high profile fights with PROOF by the way The Avengers movies are nasty.”

Janela confirmed his departure from AEW in an interview with Denis Salcedo that he will not sign a new contract when it expires in the coming months – “I am happy and satisfied with what I did in those three years in AEW. It was a learning experience, and I will say this as positively as possible without looking at Negative Those three years with AEW have been evolutionary for the rest of my career. I’m much sharper now, not just in the ring but in business- wise, I’ve learned a lot in those three years. Now I’m not only smarter, in all aspects of the wrestling business, But I can also go to a guy, I can go to Nick Wayne and teach him things, from the things I’ve learned in those three years. Or I can go to GCW or I can go to another promotion and teach them what I learned on the other side of the curtain. I’m not sad at all I did everything I wanted to do there. Within 6 months I started there, my goal was to wrestle Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, NT TV main night, main event pay-per-view. I did it all. The only thing I didn’t get was an anthropomorphic figure It’s over now and we’re moving forward. I have no complaints, thank Tony (Khan).”
