WWE Evil Producer Teases “Weakness” From Hulk Hogan

WWE and Peacock’s first original series has been revealed to be WWE Evil, which lives up to its name by highlighting some of the biggest villains in WWE history. If you’re talking about WWE villains, you have to talk about the Hollywood Hulk Hogan. Hogan’s transformation from fan-favorite champion to leader of one of the (if not) greatest heel factions is an iconic icon, and WWE Evil is giving fans back what led to his iconic transformation and how it all came about. It’ll also cover some soft topics about the downfall of NWO, Hulk’s creative control, and more, as WWE Evil Producer Michael Brown spoke in an interview with MackMania Podcast.

“One of the most interesting things is Hollywood Hogan. There’s a lot of it, there’s a lot of things between what was going on with the NWO and the different people who got into the situation that might have brought down the NWO and some of the Hulk creative controls that have always been speculated, And a few different things like that, which is addressed a little more directly than it was in the past. That episode was really cool because we were able to pull some of the weaknesses out of Hogan and other people. That’s really special, for sure,” Brown said.

Brown said WWE is open to talking about things that haven’t been talked about much before in WWE Evil, which would make it all the more compelling if that were the case. Hogan’s transformation into Hollywood Hogan is well documented, so we welcome any new elements the special can add to that story.

The NWO seemed to have collapsed on the inside after becoming too powerful and basically bringing in almost everyone at some point, then splitting off from another faction called Wolfpac. While they were popular as well (I was a huge fan back in the time of Black and Red), there were diminishing returns once it felt like everyone on the list was part of the group in some way or another.

Following the purchase of WCW by WWE, NWO will return with the original group of Hogan, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, and they will continue to run there as well. They’ve also been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a group and have earned special returns at WrestleMania, such as during a match between Sting and Triple H.

You can watch the full episode when WWE Evil debuts on Peacock on March 24.
