The series simulated the real and modern war, jumping into the near future, the distant future, and even back to before the First World War. It brings its own epic sandbox gameplay to all kinds of different settings, allowing for new possibilities and stories. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but EA seems to have an idea of where the chain will go next.

There is no release window for the next Battlefield game and it seems likely that EA will wait some time before making any significant announcements. The last thing the publisher needs is another Battlefield game that’s been accelerated, so fans may have to wait a few years before entering the next major line.
