The fourth and final season of The attack on the Giants It changes things dramatically for Eren Jaeger, as the series’ former hero uses the power of Rumbling, the Founding Colossus, to try to eliminate all those who live outside the confines of Paradise Island. Now, it seems fans have found a ruined Easter egg where Eren’s old friends are put in the sad situation of having to contemplate killing the youngest Jaeger in order to save a world that hates the wise and wants them dead.
Eren Jaeger never limits any of the punches when it comes to keeping his friends away from his current life decisions, as in the first half of Season 4 he sees Eren sit down with Mikasa and Armin and have no trouble shattering them emotionally. With Mikasa’s status as Ackerman, Eren urges the member of the Scout Regiment to make her believe that her “love” for Geiger actually stems from her genetic need to imprint on someone else, which appears to be the same relationship that Captain Levi had with Commander Erwin. With Eren now threatening the entire world, Mikasa is caught between a rock and a hard place, and must grapple with the thought of killing the only love of her life.
Twitter user Leiondryse shared this tragic Easter egg that hints at the idea that Eren Jaeger in his founding form a giant had opened his eyes directly only when looking at Mikasa, and closed them throughout his worldwide rampage to protect the citizens of Heaven:
