WWE Superstar returns from injury in SmackDown

Tonight’s SmackDown offered a welcome surprise as we started to approach halfway through, and it all started with the announcement of a match between Fight Night’s Ridge Holland, who accompanied Sheamus and Butch to the ring. He was supposed to have a match against The New Day, and when Kofi Kingston came out I assumed it was against him, but that wasn’t the case. “When we said you’d have a match against The New Day, oh no, but if it wasn’t me, who? Who? Who? Then King Woods music hit and the glorious Woods came back to SmackDown,” Kingston said.

That wasn’t all, he jumped in the ring to face the Netherlands, so it looks like Woods is back at 100% after being sidelined with injury for several weeks. Woods got off to a hot start and didn’t show any circular rust at all, but then Holland got the momentum to swing in his favour for just a minute and smile as Woods lay on the carpet.

That didn’t last long, as Woods regained control and rolled Holland into number 3, shocking Holland and his team of Sheamus and Butch, both rushing to the ring after the final count.

Meanwhile, Woods and Kingston booked him at the entrance ramp and they were all smiling, as Woods threw some jeers as they headed up the ramp. Holland was still reeling and looking somewhat pissed off about the whole thing, so we’d say this feud was just beginning.

It was unknown if Woods would be back in time for WrestleMania, as his injury should have kept him out for 4-6 weeks. It looked like he’d come in and go there for a minute, and with Big E injured in recent weeks, fans weren’t sure if New Day and Kingston’s plans would have to change. Thankfully, Woods is back in action and looks ready to go, so a new day will definitely be in the works at WrestleMania as a result.
