The 94th Academy Awards won is very An interesting turn in his last hour. Chris Rock took the stage as a presenter to unveil the winner of Best Documentary Feature. In the lead up to the reveal, Rock made a few jokes here and there, including one about Jada Pinkett Smith’s new haircut. In what appears to be an unscripted thing, Will Smith got off his seat and climbed onto the stage, slapping Rock before returning to his seat.
Although ABC is muted, Smith is seen yelling “Keep my wife’s name out of your mouth,” while Rock tried to continue his speech.

“Oh, wow,” said Rock, right after the slap. Will Smith just shocked me. Awesome, dude. It was Ji Jin joke.”
Smith went on to repeat what he had said, before Rock added, “I’m going to, okay?” comedian and SNL The graduate was visibly shaken, trying to figure out his cues on how to continue the monologue. After a few seconds, the presenter was able to continue.
