Last night Danger!DC fans were excited to see that John Constantine and The legends of tomorrow in the capital The name was dropped…even if none of the contestants had any idea what was driving the show. One clue to the March 30 episode of the quiz show was “In the movie, Keanu Reeves was this mysterious artist played by Matt Ryan.” The legends of tomorrow in the capitalThe question they were looking for: Who is John Constantine? Before the character arrived in the Arrowverse, Reeves played John Constantine in the 2005 film, which was a box office disappointment but has since become a cult classic.
Matt Ryan grew up in a show role on NBC (which, like the Reeves movie, was simply called Constantine) in 2014. Shortly after the series was canceled, he appeared in Arrowwho created the character that eventually moves to legends of tomorrow.
Jon’s self-proclaimed “evil act” stayed with the legends for a few years, but eventually became more of a threat to the team than an asset in Season 6, when he lost his charm and became obsessed with getting it back. At the end of that season, Constantine left the team and the show (though Ryan remained in place, playing Dr. Gwen Davis, the inventor of time travel, in season seven).

Constantine may have left legendsBut the character won’t last long. Besides one of his predecessors being part of Netflix’s The Sandman, John himself will appear in planned Justice League Dark projects from producer JJ Abrams on HBO Max. This version of John is meant to be reworked, with an emphasis on the possibility of bringing a colorful actor on board. Ryan will once again voice the character in an upcoming animated anthology called Constantine: House of Mystery.
While Ryan said he was satisfied with the journey his version of Constantine took between 2014 and 2021, Keanu Reeves has repeatedly said he’d like to get another chance with the character.
“I would like to play the role of John Constantine from Constantine [movie.] I tried,” Reeves told Stephen Colbert in 2021. He’s made many similar comments over the years.
The legends of tomorrow in the capitalMeanwhile, the eighth season renewal is awaited. Season 7 ended on a cliffhanger, with the team arrested for crimes against Timestream and Donald Faison Booster Gold joining and then immediately betraying the team.
