After her attempt to get back into the job market failed the way she wanted, last week’s episode saw Althea decide to get into the business herself. It’s a major step for the girl, but she will have some challenges of her own. This week’s episode, “Clementine,” will see Althea deal not only with her new venture but also with the unexpected theft of her beloved car. Sounds like a heavy story, but speaking with ComicBook.com, Shannon Dang teased that the episode was full of fun and compared it to the kung fu version of The Fast and the Furious.
“[At the end of last week’s episode] Althea realizes that she wants to be her own boss. Thus, Episode 204 takes us on her first day as CEO. She has this group of really talented workers and employees, and she’s nervous. Dang said she’s really excited, but it’s also one of the biggest days of her career and she’s having a hard time hiding her weaknesses. “She’s not quite sure what to do or how to lead this company. But she knows she wants to be perfect and be a great leader. And so, Denise, the amazing husband that he is, wants to support her and offer to bring her some snacks to her co-workers and to relieve Stress and have a great first day.In the process, Clementine and Clementine’s old BMW Althea, aka her baby, aka “the symbol of her independence and the love of her life”, is stolen. It’s crazy.”
She continued, “This whole episode revolves around Nikki, Dennis, Althea and the ‘Shooby Gang’ who are looking for and rescue Clementine… We call this episode ‘Kung Fu Fast Furious’ because there are a lot of cars, hilarious parties, and car chases. It’s so much fun.”
Dang also said that the episode strikes a great balance between high-stakes action and comedy, which makes the episode more fun without making too much effort to be funny.
It’s full of action, this episode, but also comedy,” said Dang. “It’s all very risky, but every situation is just funny without trying to be funny.”
The synopsis of the episode “Clementine” is as follows: Letting go of the past – After finding himself in trouble, Dennis (Tony Chung) turns to Nikki (Olivia Liang) for help, which leads them to uncover an episode of auto theft in Chinatown. Henry (Eddie) Liu) and Nikki have their first real fight, Henry reluctantly reconnects with his estranged father.Finally, Evan (Gavin Stenhouse) is forced to make a difficult decision that could cost him his job.Tzi Ma, Kheng Hua Tan, Shannon Dang and… John Pracida also starred, and Richard Speight, Jr. directed the episode written by Richard Lowe.
