The Bat-Mite is presented as a little man in an ill-fitting Batman costume, who uses an increasing array of magical powers to create scenarios to extract his idol, Batman. In the post-crisis world of DC, the Bat-Mite appears only sporadically in the comics, often partnering with Superman’s Imp antagonist, Mr. Mxyzptlk. Bat-Mite even had a monthly comedy series in 2015.
“It’s almost like playing a huge joke on the DCU to make a Bat-Mite movie,” peace maker Creator James Gunn recently said ComicBook.com. “I guess I can’t say there was a huge thought process for her. I write, these things happen, and then I kind of deal with it. I think the Peacemaker’s relationship with other superheroes is very specific. He’s envious. He wants to be in that holy trinity of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman. He’s not. He wants to be a member of the Justice League, and they’d never let him join the Justice League. That people love him as much as they love Aquaman, but they don’t like him.”
