Batman Very different from previous attempts at a solo movie based on the popular DC Comics character. Matt Reeves made his version of Gotham City as dark as you imagine the location was meant to be. One key moment in Batman, at the beginning of the movie where Batman smacks a group of thugs in face paint, and utters the phrase “I’m getting revenge.” Fans will notice that the phrase is very different from Christian Bale or Michael Keaton using the infamous “I’m Batman” phrase, and it turns out that’s what Reeves wanted. In a new interview with KCRWthe director explains why his movie used “I’m Vengeance” instead of “I’m Batman.”
“For me, the arc from the beginning, when I’m thinking about the story, is going from a self-proclaimed place, which doesn’t come from some of the comics, and from the animated series, this idea of saying, ‘No, I’m Batman,’ which obviously represents a line Keaton is the main one in Burton, but I’m “on revenge,” Reeves told KCRW. “And that this was due to his personal anger and this primal feeling he was having, that’s really just a throbbing and trying to make sense of his life, so he’s not really self-aware. That’s one of the things, too, about the music and the sound of this scene. It’s kind of building in such a way that you can feel the rage and his heart is pounding, thumping, thumping, and then you can feel the intent of the sound and the intent of the music at the end of that scene, and even visually the sense of adrenaline finally starts to subside.”
Batman It has a lot of similarities with the first films in the previous two franchises. Reeves does something similar by introducing the Joker to Riddler during the final act of the movie. Warner Bros. decided The director will release a deleted scene from the film a few weeks after the release that shows Batman going to the Joker, played by Barry Keoghan, for advice on the Riddler case. Batman The director recently revealed, in an interview with Variety, why the scene is so important to Robert Pattinson’s Batman.
“I thought he would be really insecure about this and might want to find a way to get in [Riddler’s] A mindset, as in Manhunter or Mindhunter – the idea of identifying someone’s traits, so you can predict their next move,” Reeves explained. He later added, “You realize that they have a relationship, that this guy obviously did something, and Batman somehow got him to Arkham”.
