This week Niantic announced that both Salandit and Salazzle are making pokemon go Debuting as part of the “All-Hands Rocket Retreat” event, players can now obtain both of these Pokémon under the right conditions. Many Shadow Pokemon in both Regular, Shiny, and Alolan forms return during this event as well, along with more monsters and some rewards for players to take advantage of until the event ends.

The two Pokémon Salamanders are available with Salandit and can be obtained via 12km Eggs. You’ll only be able to get the Salandit evolution, Salazzle, by evolving the former with 50 Salandit Candy, but there is a problem. Just as evolutions work in basic Pokemon games, only female Salandit can evolve into Salazzle.
While these will be the most Pokemon they will follow to expand their collections, a number of Shadow Pokemon have been shown at this event. Among them are Latias, Alolan Ratata, Alolan Sandeshru, Alolan Exegotor, Sududu, Giravarij, and Numel. Niantic said players “may encounter a different Pokemon Shiny Shadow than usual” as well, so there’s a chance you’ll get a more unique variant than usual.
It’s also possible to encounter the brilliant Sneasel during this event after players complete field research missions. You might come across Scraggy doing the same thing, but Niantic said you’ll only encounter this Pokemon if you’re lucky.
With more Pokémon originally found in the Alola region appearing, the GO Rocket team felt the need to reappear as well…

As for event rewards, players will naturally find Team GO Rocket more often at PokeStops and in balloons. There is also a one-time event pack that players can purchase which contains 10 Max Potions, 10 Max Revives, and five missile radars for 1,275 Bokecoins.
