Rick Boggs may have been injured during the opening match of WrestleMania 38

Wrestlemania 38 is off to an alarming start, as the wrestler may have sustained a major injury during the opening match. Rick Boggs came down with what appeared to be a legitimate knee injury during a spot where he tried to lift both Jay and Jimmy Uso onto his back. Boogs’ left knee unexpectedly twisted and went down the middle of the loop. He managed to tick off his partner Shinsuke Nakamura and did not return for the rest of the match. Boogs was still being treated by medical professionals at the end of the match, and commentators Pat McAfee and Michael Cole seem to confirm that he suffered a legitimate injury of some sort.

The injury came at the worst time for Boogs, who was wrestling in his first Wrestlemania and opened the show playing his guitar while dressed as Mike’s Harder. Given the big sponsorship and prestige of the tournament, it looked like Boogs and Nakamura were on their way to winning their first Tag Team Championship before Boogs sustained injury.

Our thoughts obviously go to Boogs and we hope he recovers quickly, assuming the injury is legitimate. We will provide any updates on the status of Boogs as soon as they are announced.
