New “Cosmic Rewind” Guardians of the GalaxyA themed ride at Walt Disney World in Orlando opened May 27 at EPCOT, the entertainment giant revealed today on social media. A short trailer released for the trip reveals that Rocket and Groot will apparently be the central Guardians characters to play a role in the story of the trip itself, while Peter Quill falls asleep in the passenger seat of Benatar. The announcement comes on the heels of a first look inside the flight last week, and the April Fools’ Day announcement as well. It’s the latest ride themed on the popular Marvel franchise, and developed with input from filmmaker James Gunn. It was the Guardians’ first ride from Disney Parks Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout!, It is located in the Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort.
Gunn has reportedly routed some of the interstitial parts for the ride, continuing a tradition that goes back decades. George Lucas and The GodfatherFrancis Ford Coppola participated in attractions such as Captain EO And the Star Tours.
“The Guardians are great,” said Michael Houndgen, executive producer of Walt Disney Imagineering previously. Character Book. “They’re fun, they’re disrespectful, they have great music. And so I felt like this: If we could take advantage of bringing them to Walt Disney World, Epcot would have been a great home for them.
