Cody Rhodes is officially back in WWE WrestleMania 38 last weekend, making him the first major AEW star to jump into the promotion of Vince McMahon. Reports of WWE’s interest in several AEW superstars such as MJF, Wardlow and Jade Cargill have surfaced for over a year and many fans believe that signing Rhodes (if he is introduced as a big star) could pave the way for them to jump in. ship in the coming years. Ariel Halawani spoke with Rhodes after a news conference on Sunday morning and asked “American Nightmare” about other AEW stars following his lead.
“I will only give someone honest advice. This might work for someone. This was right for me. It’s a healthy thing. It doesn’t look healthy when you watch the show because all we do is talk trash about each other, Which I really hope no one is doing here because he’s lazy, he’s lazy, and you discredit what’s been built and what happened to me. You discredit my credibility and you’re incorrect in the sense that it doesn’t matter. I’ll always give my best advice because this timeline isn’t for everyone. WWE made it, And WWE and Nick Khan in particular made it so easy. There’s a bus, your family, your wife, your daughter, the red carpet. That red carpet means it’s time to go to work. I’m curious how I’m going to do that, but I’m never going to do it in terms of benefit I can only give honest advice because everyone is different.”
Rhodes was asked about the topic during the press conference as well, saying that he is just happy that the business is healthy enough that a lot of wrestlers from many companies are famous around the world.
