With this year’s WrestleMania already featuring Logan Paul of YouTube fame and Johnny Knoxville of Jackass on their way to the squared circle, Pat McAfee was looking to win his own match by facing off with current “favorite wrestler” Vince McMahon in Austin Theory. With McMahon recently displaying his power by lifting the dead for a thousand pounds in the gym, despite being 76, this match was not only about McAfee defeating Austin Theory, but also taking a metaphorical swing at the WWE CEO.
McAfee was of course the fan favorite to win this match, with the former footballer turned commentator communicating with fans in a way that Austin theory did not, with the latter trying to win over Vince McMahon whenever he could. Mr. McMahon was so involved that the CEO even had the opportunity to get his own introduction, playing his classic theme as he walked down the ring.
McAfee may be known for his very popular podcast, but his dream was to get into the ring and definitely prove what he can do tonight. With Pat brought into the ring with the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, it was clear that the podcast host cemented the scene for his WrestleMania debut and was nearly able to pin Theory early on in their match three times. Hilariously, McAfee put a headset on himself and commented on his own match as he hit Austin’s head against the table.
Pat may have won by lap-up, but his real match was waiting for him as Vince McMahon jumped into the ring and started hitting McAfee, with Austin continuing to curl around the ring for support. While McAfee could have beaten Austin, he shockedly lost to Vince McMahon to end the night. Of course, the match saw some surprises even after McMahon won, to say the least.
