The new chapter of the series continues the fight between the two and begins to show just how powerful Luffy’s Gear Fifth can be. It was revealed that he had now reached a new level of ability thanks to his new vigilance, but at the same time it might be too much for him at the moment. Forcing his body to maintain the Gear Fifth form by any means necessary, it soon appeared in the new chapter that the limits of this new form were very narrow in terms of how long he could actually use.

While trying to figure out what she really is, Luffy does so much damage that he can basically do everything his body can imagine doing. But Kaido taunted him, Luffy crosses these limits again.
He’s able to activate the Gear Fifth form again once he remembers what he’s really fighting for, but it’s clear that Luffy has a lot of trouble keeping this form active despite the good luck nature he takes when using it.
