In the recent decade since it’s been on the air, The CW’s Arrowverse shows have served general audiences to a wide variety of comic villains. Poison Mary and Marquis Jet (Nick Creegan) take control of Ryan’s life as the new Joker. All the while, Ryan has to deal with the last trophy – Clayface, who sets off in Gotham City and becomes attached to a young boy named Tanner, who uses his powers to take revenge on bullies. For the duration of the problem (and with the help of super girlLena Luther), Ryan is able to freeze Tanner using Mr. Freeze’s technology, and send him away to a frozen prison in Arkham Asylum. So, who exactly could this villain be? Clues from this particular scene point in multiple different directions – the character’s face design evokes an Eclipso, but star girl (which will be part of earth head event) he actually fought the villain, and he had a completely different set of powers at the time. The staff also looks unmistakably like the one used by the Blue Devil, but the character’s powers and MO don’t seem to match. One possibility, given the speech Clyves gave, is that the character is in fact Libra, the somewhat mysterious villain in the Justice League who became a terrifying harbinger for Darkseid during the events of Final Crisis, seeking to “balance” the power of the heroes. In the end, we’ll have to wait and see how future versions of Earth-Prime continue this narrative thread – and what character ends up being.
