Arrow Star Stephen Amell Says ‘Never Say ‘ to Return

It’s been more than two years since then Arrow close to the end, bringing about an era end for The CW’s slate of superhero shows. At the center of the series was Stephen Amell’s film about Oliver Queen / Green Arrow, the story of which culminated in his death during the events of the “Crisis on Infinite Earth” crossover. Of course, death is a fickle thing in the superhero storytelling world, which has some wondering if Amell could return to the Arrowverse in some capacity. In a recent interview with den geekEmile addressed the possibility, revealing that he would be open to returning, if the story required it.

“What means a lot to me is that we were able to take control in the end,” Amell revealed. β€œIt rarely happens. To have that conversation with Greg Berlanti during season six, and to determine that version seven and then an abridged version of season eight will conclude the story, it’s just a blessing, because we had to do it the right way. We have to say goodbye to people the right way. My opinion, the way any superhero without superpowers should end is in Earth. Although I think Oliver just turned into energy. So you know, never say never.”

“Oh, sure,” Emile said of the comeback. “I owe a lot to the people of DC, The CW, and Warner Bros. Television. I love the character so much and I love her even more now that she’s coming out two years after the show ended…small space now, I see I’m missing her. I look back, very, very fondly …Listen, I’m the namesake. So if I can be of any help, if I can be of service to the Arrowverse in any way, shape, or form, or better yet take it to a new place, which I think would be the most interesting path, Whether it’s in a limited capacity or on a different platform, maybe where we can show blood, that would be really cool.”

Last year, Amell enjoyed the possibility of a comeback within the HBO Max mini-series, or even a decent payout on The CW itself.

If you get the chance to do 6 to 8 episodes of Arrow As a limited series on Netflix or HBO Max β€” or something like that, or on the CW, as the case may be β€” I think that would be great,” Emile explained while appearing on The Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast.
