This was especially true with All For One moving into full action itself with the series’ final chapter, and he’s been enacting many of the plans he’s made over the course of the series thus far. This undoubtedly includes his plans for the Shigaraki to serve as a new vessel for his mind and strength, but it turns out that years ago he was preparing several alternative potential hosts to cash in if his work with young Tenko Shimura didn’t solve the problem. the way you expected.
Chapter 350 of My hero academy He delves into Dabi’s past, and reveals that All For One saved young Toya Todoroki from the brink of death and reconstructed his body as best he could with the intent of making him a host one day. It is revealed that Dabi was previously being held inside a facility full of other children who benefited All For One, and while he previously seemed to have focused all his attention on misrepresenting Shigaraki’s ideology, it turns out to be a standard for the villain.
He had been raising many children in this way, using their various anger and hatred against their loved ones with the intent of using them as a potential backup host to his power should something happen. Dabi was one of those hosts, but he wasn’t interested in listening to All For One and instead set out to become the villain that he is in the current series. It’s just another example of the extent to which the villain was pre-planning his grand plan, and it raises questions about what the villain is really after if such planning is necessary.
