Nosferatu Remake director casts doubt on project going forward, infuriates him

In the years since the appearance of initial reports about the witch Director Robert Eggers develops a new take NosferatuHe went on to produce two films, leaving fans wondering when the project might eventually move forward, with Eggers himself even noting that he wasn’t sure the project could be integrated together. The project came close to taking shape recently, until it was revealed that Harry Styles had not only been hooked up but had to quit due to scheduling conflicts. Eggers couldn’t help but suggest that the project may have been a victim of other forces preventing it from taking shape.

“Dude, I don’t know,” Eggers shared Indiewire When asked about the status of the project. “He broke down twice. I was trying to spread the word because word says Harry Styles will be in the movie. I just want to be clear that it will be Hutter and not Nosferatu himself.”

He added, “I was trying really hard…and just wondering if it’s even possible [original director F.W.] Mornau’s ghost tells me, like, you should stop.”

The original 1922 movie based on Bram Stoker Dracula It depicts the evil Count Orlock who terrorizes a local town and sets his sights on Ellen, Thomas Hutter’s wife. Details of Orlock’s selection have not been revealed, although Anya Taylor-Joy has been associated with the project almost since its inception.

While Dracula Inspired countless adaptations, Nosferatu He had previously had a remake from director Werner Herzog, with Eggers continuing to share his thoughts on the material.

“The Herzog movie – for me, and I love Herzog, he’s one of my favorite directors – but I feel it’s not equal,” the director admitted. “Love the result, my love [Isabelle] Adjani love [Klaus] Kinsky, but, like luminous night scenes, what? That’s just Herzog doing Herzog. But the best sequence of this movie, for me, is getting to the castle with Das Rheingold, and I don’t even know if that makes sense in the movie though it’s cool. But at the same time, because of German history and the history of German cinema, he had the right to make that movie, and he had to do that movie. I don’t know. Perhaps Murnau will tell me I have no right.”
