The final recap of the Killing Eve series

After Eve and Villanelle reunite in Season 4, their plan to eliminate The Twelve and its members once and for all becomes clear.

Once Eve gets rid of Gunn herself, and proves her loyalty to Villanelle, she then resolves to take on The Twelve clear at Barn Swallow Pub with Villanelle, Carolyn and Pam present.

After killing everyone in The Twelve, Villanelle is shot by an unknown killer, and proceeds to shoot her even after she falls into the Thames with Eve. Montague Ramsey confirmed that Villanelli had indeed been murdered and it seemed clear that Caroline was behind the murder.

Why was Caroline Villanel killed?

She killed Caroline Villanelle because it was the only way to secure her way back to the M16 by getting rid of The Twelve and all the people associated with the group – including Villanelle.

Caroline basically played Villanelle, Eve, and everyone else involved in order to leave her with the winning hand. Villanelle inadvertently did Caroline’s dirty job of getting rid of The Twelve and killing Villanelle was the last step in Caroline’s plan.

Despite her attempt to reach Villanelle, the protagonist dies of her injuries and dies surrounded by images of angel wings made of her blood in water.
