Developer CD Projekt Red announced today that the upcoming PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt It has now been postponed indefinitely. Originally scheduled for release in the second half of 2021, CD Projekt Red revealed last year that it would instead push the next generation upgrade for the Witcher 3 In the first six months of 2022. As fans prepare to return to this world in the near future, they will now have to wait longer than expected.
CD Projekt Red took to social media this afternoon to inform fans that the next generation upgrade on PS5 and Xbox Series X has now been pushed back from the second quarter of 2022.” The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. CD Projekt Red said on the matter, we are currently evaluating the scope of work to be done and therefore the Q2 release should be delayed until further notice. “We will update you as soon as we can. Thank you for your understanding.”

As mentioned, this isn’t the first time the original PS5 and Xbox Series X have been released Witcher 3 It was pushed back. The fact that CD Projekt Red indicated that development on this iteration of the game has now moved internally seems to indicate that work in the port has not been going well lately. As such, this shift will probably end up seeing a higher quality next generation upgrade when it is released.
Although fans will have to wait longer for this update to roll out now, it’s worth noting that the upgrade will be free for anyone who already owns it. Witcher 3. So, while this version is definitely testing the patience of a number of fans, at least the update itself won’t require any more money to get it.
