What is MrBeast’s net worth?

MrBeast is an American YouTube star, philanthropist, and entrepreneur. Mr. Best has a net worth of $25 million. MrBeast is also known as Jimmy Donaldson, famous for his stunts on YouTube that give large sums of money to friends or charities. He is considered the pioneer of charity videos on YouTube. He is also one of the highest paid YouTubers on the planet. In 2020, he earned $24 million from his YouTube channel and from merchandise sales and sponsorships with brands like Microsoft and Electronic Arts.

Jamie is said to invest the majority of his video earnings in video production. He now spends as much as $300,000 producing a single video, up from $10,000 a few years ago. His stunts tend to have a charitable angle, such as giving money to strangers or adopting an entire shelter for rescue dogs.

According to YouTube analytics service SocialBlade, MrBeast generates at least $3 million per month from YouTube ads alone. This does not include the brand deals included in the video.

As of this writing, his three main channels, MrBeast, MrBeast Pants and Beast Reacts, have over 90 million subscribers. This combined number of subscribers makes MrBeast technically the most subscribed YouTube creator in the United States. PewDiePie is the world’s most subscribed single content creator with 110 million subscribers on his main channel alone.

Early life and career

Jimmy Donaldson was born on May 7, 1998 in Greenville, North Carolina where he attended Greenville Christian Academy and graduated in 2016.

He started posting videos on YouTube when he was 12 years old under the username “MrBeast6000”. He attended college briefly but dropped out to pursue a full-time YouTube career.

In his early videos, he posted video game comments, interactive videos, and funny combos.

success

Jamie first gained widespread fame after releasing his “Count to 100,000” video in 2017. In the video, he spent 44 hours counting to 100,000. The video will be viewed more than 21 million times.

He followed that up with a video that numbered 200,000. Other popular accomplishments include reading the dictionary, reading the script for “Bee Movie”, going across America, saying “Logan Paul” 100,000 times and watching Jake Paul’s shocking music video “It’s Every Day Bro” on repeat for 10 consecutive hours.

His YouTube accounts today have more than 90 million subscribers and have generated over 10 billion video views. Most Medium videos have been viewed more than 20 million times. He has 12 million followers on Instagram, 9 million followers on Twitter and 13 million followers on TikTok.

He is associated with PewDiePie and has purchased billboards and radio ads to help him get more subscribers from T-Series. Nominated for Vlogger of the Year at the 2019 Shorty Awards. Received a Breakout Creator Award. Nominated for the 2020 Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Male Social Star. Received the 2020 YouTuber of the Year Award. He was also the Creator of the Year for 2020 at the Streamy Awards.

In just one week in July 2020, MrBeast gained 400,000 new subscribers and garnered more than 80 million video views. This success made him the 20th most popular YouTube personality during that time.

Charity trick

Jamie really hit the ground running in 2018 when he started his “stunt philanthropy”. In one particularly popular video clip from this period, MrBeast gave $1,000 to strangers. Soon, millions of fans subscribed to his channels which made him donate hundreds of thousands of dollars, and even a million dollars.

In December 2019, he posted a video asking people to keep their hands on a pile of $1 million in cash. The last person to remove his hand from the stack, had to keep the money:

Monthly budget for video production

MrBeast has confirmed that he spends as much as he earns each month producing content. This lines up when you consider that in some of the videos he’s actually donating a million dollars. In August 2020, he spent at least $3 million on production costs, employee salary rent, and more.

Monthly income

As mentioned earlier, MrBeast earns at least $3 million per month from YouTube video views. For example, in March 2022 MrBeast uploaded 54 videos to its 13 channels. These 54 videos resulted in 283 million views. To understand how much income it might translate to, we first realize that MrBeast has three main sources of income:

  • Advertising revenue
  • sponsorships
  • goods

Approach each source:

Advertising revenue

Video ads make a huge difference in CPMs in different countries. Video advertising in the US and Canada pays much more than watching an ad in Brazil. However, it would be safe to assume that the average CPM for a video is $5. That’s $5 per thousand views, net for MrBeast. At 283 million views, that equates to $1.4 million in net income.

sponsorships

It was previously reported that MrBeast is being paid $1 million per month to be the primary sponsor of his video homepage. For example, in March this sponsor was Experian Credit Bureau. I think it would be safe to assume that with sponsorship offers on his other channels, Beast would get another $1 million minimum, for a total of $2 million.

goods

AKA Secret Holy Grail. Last year when MrBeast made about $54 million, nearly HALF came from merchandise sales according to various reports. That dropped to $2.25 million per month. Let’s round up to $2 million to be conservative.

When calculating these three revenue sources, we get:

1.4 + 2 + 2 = $5.4 million

This equates to $174,193 earned each day in March.

When they finally reach their goal of planting 20 million trees, the project will have removed an estimated 1.6 million tons of carbon from the atmosphere while removing 116,000 tons of chemical air pollution.

portable games

In June 2020, MrBeast launched a multiplayer bearing game called “Finger on the App”. The concept of the game was actually very simple. Users from all over the world had to keep their finger on their phone screen in the app. The last person to take it off will win $25,000.

MrBeast has been nominated for a number of notable awards during his career thus far. In 2019, he won the Breakout Creator Award at the Streamy Awards. In the same year he was nominated for the Casting and Creator of the Year award.

clothing line

Outside of YouTube revenue, MrBeast’s second largest source of income is its merchandise line. Sold by shopmrbeast.com, it offers a wide selection of T-shirts, T-shirts, hats, water bottles, mouse pads, backpacks and more. It is estimated that approximately 40% of MrBeast’s annual income comes from merchandise sales.

charity

Over the years MrBeast has donated or raised tens of millions of dollars to various charities. His sensational videos have donated items to homeless shelters, the VA Wounded Veterans Program, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and a local animal shelter in Los Angeles. For example, a December 2018 video donated $100,000 worth of clothing and other items to homeless shelters.

In October 2019, Jamie partnered with NASA engineer and YouTuber Mark Rober to create a foundation called #TeamTrees. The goal was to raise $20 million over the next three months for the Arbor Day Foundation. The organization will plant one tree for every dollar raised. Dozens of YouTubers gathered together to promote the cause. Within 24 hours of launch, #TeamTrees raised $4 million. By December, they had raised more than $20 million. As of this writing, they’ve raised $22 million north.

personal life

Jamie suffers from an inflammatory bowel disease called Crohn’s disease. He was diagnosed with the disease in the ninth grade. Over the years he mentioned the long battle he fought against the debilitating condition. Before his diagnosis, he was getting sick almost every day and at one point lost 30 pounds over the summer due to extreme discomfort. In addition to medication, MrBeast follows a rather strict diet.

Girlfriend

In June 2019, Jamie started dating Maddie Spadel. They met via Twitter.

Maddie was first revealed as MrBeast’s girlfriend in a February 2020 video titled “Surprise My Friend With 100,000 Roses For Valentine’s Day”. This video has over 50 million views as of this writing.
