“Wanda is one of my favorite characters, so I took the opportunity to design it!” Dottermann remembers. “I bowed to the magical icons and pointed out some of the previous Scarlet Witch costumes—plus nods to her son Wiccan and sister Polaris (from MAGNETO: DARK SEDUCTION).”

“Doom is gorgeous in general, so I chose fashion items to heighten that—go for a regal baroque look,” explains Dautermann. “He’s got a heavy fur cloak with a train, a roman-inspired sash, and a more ornate mask.”
Strong woman
“I designed a symbol for Jen’s logo inspired by Chanel—and tried to emphasize her muscles by comparing it to subtle things: flowing fabric, stiletto heels, and pearls,” says Dautermann.

“I tried to strike a balance between sexy and sassy—a more crude look at the classic Gambit costume,” explains Dautermann.
Black Widow
“I’ve done some variations on this dress, but I love it so much as a cat suit—chic and sexy, but also discreet,” Dottermann recalls. “The face covering is a nod to Natasha’s debut appearance.”
Spider Man
“This is supposed to be a more dramatic and futuristic version of the Spider-Man costume,” says Dottermann. “The suit recedes into the dark, so the glowing spider icon and geometric accents stand out.”

“This look combines Alex’s classic black and white outfit with his ’90s X-Factor look – I love this outfit!” Dauterman stock. “The edges on the sleeves and boots are meant to indicate the Havok’s rings of forces, while the X on the neck stands for the tie.”

“The snowman’s suit and boots are ice, an extension of his body, rather than the clothing over it,” explains Dautermann. “I wanted Bobby to have something classy and elegant – Versace-inspired.”

Dottermann reveals, “I wanted to give Synch a costume that would signal his powers and feel modern. Plus, I think red is his color—and a nod to Generation X.”
Magic
“Darkchild’s pantsuit!” says Dautermann. “I wanted to play with Ileana’s satanic images — with Mugler, Gaga, McQueen Twist.”
