Roman Reigns smashes the character after his first WWE match since WrestleMania 38

Roman Reigns made his first singles match since then WrestleMania 38 At Erie, Pennsylvania on Saturday night, he successfully defended the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Drew McIntyre. “The Tribal Chief” took the microphone after the match and broke down the character, saying, “It’s been a hell of a month. This is the first time I’ve been back in the ring since WrestleMania… It’s been a crazy month, two crazy weeks to process what’s going on… But I I just want to say now, with turnout and energy that [the crowd] Bring on, you’ve made it really easy for all of us to do that, all of us WWE Superstars. And I think it makes us very proud and privileged to have the opportunity to do what we do for the greatest fans in the world. So don’t put this on social media because I’m going to deny it and say it’s a hologram, but on behalf of everyone in the back, I’d like to say thank you.

“Like I said, it’s been a hell month but in WWE, we don’t have an off season. So we come back to it right away, we keep moving forward because the park never closes and I wouldn’t get it any other way. I appreciate all of you, I want you to come home safe and sound. We’ll see you next time.”

There was some concern about Reigns’ situation after WrestleMania as he appeared to have dislocated his shoulder during his match with Brock Lesnar and struggled to hold two world championships on his head as the show took off. He’s since appeared on both Raw and SmackDown but has yet to hint at what his next step would be as a unified champion (after pushing The Usos to do the same with tag titles). It is also said that it is uncertain what WWE will do now because Raw does not have a major prize for wrestlers to compete for.

Reigns has yet to announce his opponent for WrestleMania backlash Coming in Rhode Island next month, though he’s set to go on to face McIntyre at upcoming live events. Check out the updated lineup for WrestleMania backlash less:

  • Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships: RK-Bro vs The Usos
