Guy Pearce talks about the return of Iron Man 3 villain Aldrich Killian

Guy Pearce has played one of the most pivotal Marvel Cinematic Universe villains iron man 3Aldrich Killian – a genius who created the AIM organization, helped arm the Extremis technology, and made “Mandarin” a notorious (fake) symbol. However, most Marvel fans have come to the opinion that Guy Pearce’s Aldrich Killian was also one of the most criminally used villains in the MCU saga – and they’d like to see that corrected. Well, Jay Pearce says he’s absolutely playing another round as Aldrich Killian, should Marvel Studios get in touch.

ComicBook.com’s Chris Killian had a chance to speak with Jay Pearce about his new movie Memory – as well as about a possible return to the MCU. Speaking of whether he still felt Aldrich Killian should return, Pierce had to say:

“I’d be very interested in seeing him come back. And I think because of the nature of the character that he is, it’s entirely conceivable that he could come back. So yeah, I’d like to see what he’s up to, too. Because he’s a person who — obviously as we saw in Iron Man 3 — went through Kind of a quick massive change from the beginning of the story. So who knows where it ended.”

Aldrich Killian has had one of the most…explosive deaths of any Marvel (or comic book) villain, having been completely burned (many times to be exact) by Tony Stark and Pepper Potts. However, Operation Extremis has made some of the most powerful Marvel lore super soldiers, able to regenerate almost completely their bodies from catastrophic injury. Even Bieber apparently fell to her death in a fiery inferno – but managed to recover quickly enough to get Aldrich out and save Tony. As one of the first (and most successful) human applications of Extremis, Aldrich Killian is supposed to withstand more than most others – perhaps even enough to survive what happened in Iron Man 3.

Although the Iron Man of Robert Downey Jr. sacrificed himself at the end Avengers: Endgame The legacy of Iron Man and his world will soon continue in the MCU. This year, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will introduce Iron Man’s successor, Riri Williams (aka Ironheart) to the franchise. Don Cheadle’s War Machine will also get his own series, Armor Wars, for Disney+. Both projects represent major opportunities for the return of Guy Pearce’s Aldrich Killian; Even if it’s not part of the current MCU, both Ironheart and Armor Wars can easily showcase key flashbacks that Killian’s feature.
