Dragon Ball Star Masako Nozawa reveals her first impression of Piccolo

Masako Nozawa, the famous voice behind Goku, Gohan and many more for the long term Dragon Ball The anime has opened up about its surprising first impression of Piccolo in the early days of the series! Akira Toriyama Dragon Ball The franchise will celebrate its 40th anniversary in just a couple of years, and one of the coolest elements of the series is seeing how some of the main villains end up joining the fight with the heroes side of things over the course of the story. Vegeta may be the most famous example of this, but Piccolo was one of the villains who helped put together this formula.

Piccolo was introduced to the series as the final main villains in the original Dragon Ball game, and although he eventually became one of Goku and Gohan’s most trusted allies (as seen especially in the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie), Piccolo turns out to have been So sinister at first that the voice behind Goku, Masako Nozawa, revealed in a recent interview with Weekly Spa that she couldn’t stand Piccolo.

As a whim explained in the interview (As noted by @Herms98 on Twitter), the star dedicated her role while recording Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero She ends up inadvertently ignoring Hiroshi Kamiya (who plays the new villain, Gamma 1) during her breaks. As she further explains, she was so devoted that she couldn’t stand Piccolo at first until he began to reveal his kindness more and more through Gohan’s training. In fact, she turned on him so much that Piccolo’s interactions with Gohan were one of the most noticeable things to notice for the new movie.

Nozawa notes how Toriyama offers the series’ villains unexpected soft points and fun quirks, which is one of the main attractions of the series in general. It’s funny to see how far Piccolo has come in the series with not only fans, but apparently the voice of Goku and Gohan herself. It shows how close it is to the franchise as a whole, which is another major reason to get excited about it Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero As it heads to theaters in Japan in June.
