Frozen grape pies are back

The ’90s are having a moment again where not only a new generation looks to the decade for style inspiration, but those of us who lived through the decade delve into nostalgia for that point in time. Of course, no ’90s throwback would be complete without snacks from that era, and now Pop-Tarts are stepping into things with the return of Frosted Grape Pop-Tarts. Thanks to fan demand, the beloved, iconic ’90s flavor of Pop-Tarts will return to store shelves, first at Walmarts this month and then at retailers nationwide starting in May.

“At Pop-Tarts, we know what our fans want. Frosted Grape has been among the best flavors that fans have been asking us to bring back,” said Heidi Ray, Director of Marketing for Portable Wholesome Snacks. “So, we couldn’t be more excited to finally bring back this Pop-Tarts GOAT – Grape-ist of All Time.”

Frosted Grape Pop-Tarts will give fans a chance to relive (or live for the first time) the grape jelly flavored filling, snow white, and purple crunch that was such a hit in the ’90s. It will be available in a box of 8 at a suggested retail price of $3.19.

In addition to the return of Frosted Grape Pop-Tarts, Pop-Tarts is encouraging fans to celebrate their Frosted Grape look. That’s right, get inspired to “freeze” your hair – dye your hair purple, get purple highlights, purple extensions, purple wigs, purple butterfly clips, you name it! – Share your Frosted Grape look on Instagram using #Y2GrapeEntry, and you’ll get a year’s supply of Frosted Grape Pop-Tarts and “Y2Grape Time Capsule” filled with the best of the Y2K era. If this. Not your thing, in May, a Snapchat filter is coming that will let you celebrate the Frosted Grape as well.

The return of Frosted Grape Pop-Tarts is the latest news from the brand. Last month, they announced the debut of the new Snickerdoodle Pop-Tarts. This flavor is said to be a homage to the bakery staple and will satisfy the needs of any cookie lover. The biscuit and pastry mixture combines a Snickerdoodle flavored filling with a crunchy cinnamon sugar coating to create the familiar, melt-in-your-mouth moment.
